YANGZE 22

* We have received reports that bulk carrier YANGZE 22 (IMO: 9958212) collided with bulk carrier VEGA DREAM (IMO: 9532094) whilst navigating the Changjiang River, China, on 30 December 2024.

* It is reported that YANGZE 22 sustained damage to its starboard side resulting in the loss of approximately 9 tonnes of fuel oil from the vessel.

* YANGZE 22 is now reported to have moved to anchor at Hengsha East Anchorage for inspection, whilst pollution control operations are being coordinated by the local authorities.

* It is possible that General Average issues may arise as a result of this incident.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.

* VEGA DREAM is a bulk carrier with a gross tonnage of 91,468 tonnes, having a carrying capacity of up to 199,507 cubic metres of bulk cargo, and is reported to have been on a laden voyage from Zhoushan to Zhangjiagang, China at the time of the incident.

* There are currently no reports of damage to VEGA DREAM as a consequence of the collision. The vessel nevertheless moved to anchor at Baoshan North Anchorage, with tug assistance, after the collision pending investigation of the circumstances of the collision by the local authorities.
